Sunrise snow squall ...
Some folk music news
Good morning,
We are hosting our last jam session of 2025 tonight! If you’ve been on the fence come on out - the weather forecast looks favorable for this evening. Info here.
Our next Canaan concert is Feb 03 with FRIGG. Frigg is from Finland. Remember the Finnish themed contra dance we organized with Metku + Lauluaika? Jason Koski (from Toivo) put together this nice little video about that weekend. Our mission is to preserve the old-time Finn tunes by adapting them to modern contra dance. You can watch the short video here.
Snow squalls. Until today, it has snowed nearly every night here. I have been out in my barn boots, my snowshoes and on skis - gotta play in the snow while it’s here.
One morning, after an evening of fluffy new snow, I went out with my camera. The sky showed some blue and the sun was coming up over the hill. The energy from that sun kicked up the wind in swirly bursts, tossing the snow about like a dust bowl storm. Photos from that below.
I have greeting cards and calendars at Handwork Artisan’s Coop all year-round. Go check out this lovely store.
Thank you once again for scrolling to the end. If you “like” and “share” my posts, that helps me by increasing my readership. -Mike :)
