Happy Wednesday,
During the last couple of weeks and particularly the last of couple days, I have been noticing an increase in what I call “AI slop”. Text and images generated by AI and not identified as such have been increasing exponentially. It is kind of scary to me as a publisher on Substack and elsewhere.
Let me tell you what I do. All of my text is written by me. I do use a spell checker on most days. All of my images are mine. I use Adobe Lightroom for editing which has some features that they call AI, but I don’t really use them. My photos are all pretty basic.
Substack is very concerned about AI text - they want what we write to be written by actual humans like me. They recently shared a website based software tool that will scan text and identify if it is AI, AI assisted, or human written. Pretty cool. It is helping me to verify my suspicions about writing on other social platforms. You can try it here https://www.pangram.com you may have to sign up for an account. I did.
I also found an AI image detector and I am using the free version of that. Their website is here https://sightengine.com/detect-ai-generated-images
End real human rant! Thanks for listening. Here are some real images. A couple of these are from a recent trip to Vermont. Enjoy.
You can find my work at Handwork Coop.
If you made it to here, I genuinely thank you for scrolling to the end. If you could please “like” and “share” my posts, that really helps me by increasing my readership. It is been great seeing all the “likes” (hearts) pop up. I appreciate and do notice every single one. -Mike :)

I'll try the sites dealing with AI stuff, thanks for the info.
