Photography workshop date announced
DATE for PHOTO WORKSHOP - Remember the poll? Well, I picked a date and time for an intro group workshop. April 11th 10am-1pm Fee $25 at The Canaan Institute. What we cover exactly depends on who shows up and what questions arise. I will try to cover basic SLR camera functions: f-stop, ISO, shutter speed, some different lens options, a little bit about software. If the weather cooperates, we will walk outdoors and take photos of natural objects and scenes. Wear boots. We’ll look at images for the last hour. Bring your own camera and a laptop to look at images if that is easy. I have 2 loaner cameras and a couple extra laptops here. I am excited to be offering this. Please register in advance. Music — We host a friendly ‘fiddle-tunes’ jam session here every Wednesday. Take a look at my calendar of events on the website for this and other events. There is a screenshot below. I only cover a small fraction of what is happening in our amazing area. I tend to focus on acoustic events like jam sessions, sing-alongs and folks dances, whatever my bands are up to in addition to what we are hosting here and similar small concerts. So take a peak.
O’Shanigans contra dances - We are looking forward to playing for an Ithaca Dance on Friday March 27th 7-10 pm at LACS (intro workshop at 6:30 pm). Organized by Hands Fours Dancers of Ithaca. The following weekend we will be in Fayetteville NY on Saturday April 4th also from 7-10 pm. O’Shanigans contra dance band has been in action since 2007. We play a mix of old, new and original world folk dance tunes for contras and weddings. www.oshanigans.org
